Disabling SharePoint

You can disable SharePoint integration; to do so you will have to access your operating system registry.

On a Windows 8/10 PC:

  1. Open the Start Menu
  2. Type "regedit.exe" and hit the "Enter" key
  3. If you see the "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" warning, click "Yes"

On a Windows 7 PC:

  1. Open the Start Menu
  2. Click inside the "Search programs and files" box
  3. Type "regedit" and hit the Enter key
  4. If you see the "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" warning, click "Yes"

On a Windows XP PC:

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Click "Run"
  3. Enter "regedit" into the run dialog and hit the "Enter" key

Regardless of operating system…
Using the tree inside the left panel, navigate to the following location:

  1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  2. Software
  3. MindGenius
  4. AppSettings

Select the AppSettings node, then:

  1. Right-click inside the right panel
  2. Select "New"
  3. Select "String Value"
  4. Enter "Sharepoint Integration" as the key name (note, this must be exactly as you see it here, minus the " ")
  5. Double click the new registry key
  6. Enter "0" into the "Value" data field
  7. Click "OK"

When you next restart MindGenius the application will pick up this new registry key and will no longer attempt to query the status of your maps and will no longer display any SharePoint UI.

Please note that if you add this registry key MindGenius will not stop you from opening SharePoint maps. If you do you will be circumventing SharePoint's version control settings. If you are a SharePoint user we advise that you do not add this key.
